C is for...

Woo! Finished my first zine.

Since I have officially entered crazy-cat-ladydom, I felt compelled to create a book dedicated to cats. Also, it is an activity book because I think activities are cool and oh so fun. (who says they are just for kids! ) Every book has a unique, hand-coloured button on front. So many kinds of cats!

I'll post some sample illustrations later. Some of my favourites include a cat-icorn, gamer cat and a make-it-yourself papercraft kitten.

I REALLY like making these sorts of Activity illustrations, so will likely cook up another project like this soon. Maybe something with more Professor Layton-like puzzles.

It is available on etsy now. If you are a crazy cat lady like me, or just like stupid drawings of cats, check it out. https://www.etsy.com/listing/103857415/c-is-for

Woweeeee

WE GOT A BUTTON MAKER?!!?!!!
:D now we can make buttons and magnets like all the cool kids.

Professor Layton and the Secret Admirer

So I am sort of, kind of in love with Professor Layton.

I picked up Professor Layton and the Last Specter a little while ago, it it has rekindled my affection for the Professor Layton series and its puzzle-loving residents.
The quirky characters in every game always make me happy. Such fun drawings. :D

To the Max!

Cat Portrait, the Crazed-eyed Cat, Max Sweet Potato (Yamchops).

The other kitty Nik and I adopted a little while back.
The crazy one.

His favourite things are chasing his tail, attacking the mouse on computer monitor, attacking pencils when someone is trying to draw, stealing his brothers food, and flaying his favourite toys. Demands attention by shoving his face into your hand.

Favourite place to sleep: my keyboard, second to the inside of our couch.

the pumpkinator

Cat portrait, Pumpkin Chai Latte.

One of the kitties Nikola and I adopted from the cat rescue a few months ago. The quieter of the two cats, he enjoys napping, belly rubs and stealing whatever toy his brother has found. He likes to flop and then cry to be pet, but always flops down just far enough away you have to get up to pet him.

He still can't properly meow so it comes out something like "ekkkk."

Sharing time!

Woo! The next Kids Think About It book has been finished. (Teaching kids about Philosophy and Ethics this time!)  So it is sharing time! ( http://kidsthinkaboutit.com/ )

This time around I got to do a two-page spread  as well as backgrounds throughout the book. It was fun to draw Mark's Sophia in my own style. :P  I'll post up some of my favourite backgrounds later.

it's a good look

This was something I did at work a while back. For a kind of silly story about a lady who found a family of ferrets living in her hair.

I haven't posted a lot of stuff from work, but I made this and a bunch of backgrounds for kid's philosophy books. This is from the Kids Think About It: Epistemology book. (http://kidsthinkaboutit.com/)

he's got a sword!

hand over all the fish.

Don't Panic

Hi there!

So here is a commission I finished recently. A few characters from various sci-fi stuffs chillin' in a bar. Do you know who they areee?

Also, in a very exciting news update about my life.. Nikola and I just adopted two adorable little kitties. After waiting something like 4 years, I am beyond pleased. They have those little earss and whiskersss and I am already on my way to being a full blown cat lady.

On that note. Here are some blurry photos of the kitties.

the girl with stars in her eyes

Hi there!
It has been a while since I have been making art for not work. But I want to get back into the swing of things. Because making things is awesome.

This a longer project I am working on called "the girl with stars in her eyes."
It will be a short comic about a girl, the stars and a boy.
I miss seeing the stars at night, so they haunt my dreams.
