the cat brothers under the tree

She hoped this would work.

After many attempts (unsuccessful ones I might add) to lure the elusive cat brothers out, she hoped this would be the one to get them into plain sight.

Why can't we all just be friends?

This is a warm up illustration for the next book I am making. Whether this will be what the final illustrations look like is another story.

the perfect match

So this is part of my preliminary work for my next project. I am probably going to be in this phase for quite a while, but here is part of what I am working on.

Character designs. Oooh-aaaah.

Creating the perfect old couple is hard work. I haven't come to a final decision yet, but I know what I am leaning towards.

How to Catch a Cat. - Part One

I have decided to start another book. It will be a while before I have anything really substantial, but it will be about cats. And a girl.

This is coming out of a drawing I did a while ago (I will post it once I have finished painting it).
Anyways it is of the three cat brothers hiding behind a tree where a girl sits pretending to sleep.

A companion to the other book illustration. over here. Well reading is awesome whichever way you do it.
Is it too obvious I enjoy cats way more than dogs? hah.

it's here.

Received my first copies of the Boy who Sailed Around the World. It's a great feeling to see it in print. For anyone around Toronto the end of this month, it is making its debut at Sheridan's Illustration Grad Show.

decisions decisions

so, I wasn't quite sure which sketch to go with for the cover of this short story I am working on... so I painted both.
And now I am not sure which painting to go with. I am leaning towards the first one. Stll not sure if it's the right call.

In other news, I should have the boy Who Sailed Around the World done by the end of March. Can't wait to see it off hthe computer monitor.
